Community

Our Parent Association’s nickname is “AMP” which stands for Ave Maria Parents. Every parent is automatically a part of this group when you join Ave Maria Academy.

Our Parent Association’s primary mission is to support Ave Maria Academy by helping to provide volunteer, social and spiritual support to our school community. The strength of our Parent Association is demonstrated by our over 90% parental volunteer rate. The Association helps coordinate parent volunteer opportunities and provides many choices for volunteer positions such as classroom coordinators, reading parents, meal providers and event chairs. Our Parent Association also organizes social events throughout the school year such as parent evenings, Mother-Daughter and Father- Son events, Grandparent’s Day and Back to School Night.

Time is a gift from God, and in this school year it would be our privilege to have you share some of that time with the other families of Ave Maria Academy. Please read through the list of events and offerings coming up in the next school year, and you will be able to sign in to our Volunteer Spot to take part.

Below are some opportunities offered through our Parent Association for greater involvement in the AMA community.

As part of the national organization Cana Family Institute, Cana Experience offers the opportunity to meet with a team of moms or dads to form deep and meaningful friendships, discover how to grow closer to your spouse, find joy and satisfaction in your motherhood or fatherhood, and confidently guide your children. Ave Maria currently offers Cana Experience Family Life Teams for mothers, and is offering small group studies for mothers in the Fall of 2020 and in the new year, 2021.

Ave Maria dads get together once a month for fellowship, fun, and spiritual growth. Past events have consisted of go-karting; Mass, dinner, and a lecture; beer tasting; and Whirlyball. The nights are a great way to get to know other dads and get more involved with the school.

Ave Maria dads and Ave Maria alumni play pick-up basketball from 7:30-9:00am on Saturday mornings. Contact Assistant Principal Benjamin Vasko at b.vasko@avemariaacademy.org to be put on the email list or to request more information.
