Ways to Give

As you consider ways you can contribute to Ave Maria Academy, please remember the following opportunities for support:

WAYS TO GIVE TO AVE MARIA ACADEMY

Annual giving is the custom of making a yearly gift or pledge payment to Ave Maria Academy. Your gift allows us to continue our mission of providing Catholic education for tomorrow’s community leaders. The campaign coincides with the Academy’s fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Click here to donate.

These annual events provide families an opportunity to take part in fun and fellowship while supporting Ave Maria Academy’s mission. The Gala is the school’s largest annual fundraising event, consisting of dinner, entertainment, and live and silent auction. The Golf tournament consists of golf, games, and dinner.  The 5K Fun Run and Walk gives families an opportunity to get outdoors and take part in a family event while also benefitting the school.  Please check out the Gala, Golf & 5K pages on the Events tab for more details on these community fundraising events.

The capital campaign program is in place to raise funds for the physical construction of the new Ave Maria Academy campus and the additions to follow. The Capital Campaign will allow Ave Maria Academy to continue to construct facilities to meet the growing need for Catholic education in the Twin Cities and its northwestern suburbs.

Many corporations recognize and are willing to support private education through a matching gift program. Your employer can advise you if your company will match your gift – often as much as two or three times your contribution.

Planned gifts include bequests through wills, gifts of life insurance policies, annuities, real estate, or in naming Ave Maria Academy as a beneficiary of a trust. Many planned giving opportunities are beneficial to the donor as well as the school recipient.

A gift of appreciated securities allows you to give more at a lower net cost. Gifts of securities and property are most welcome and offer valuable tax advantages.

Memorial and Honorarium gifts offer an opportunity to honor a relative, friend, or a business associate. Any special occasion: birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc. is a time for remembering. During a bereavement period, friends often see this as an appropriate means to express sympathy. The following message in the obituary of the deceased provides an avenue to make a meaningful and thoughtful gift: “Memorial Gifts may be made to Ave Maria Academy, 7000 Jewel Lane North, Maple Grove, MN 55311.”

The Endowment Fund was established with a generous Ave Maria supporter’s initial gift of $5,000. However, it is our goal over time to build up the Endowment Fund so that the annual earnings can have a meaningful impact on the school’s operating budget and scholarship funding.

Several donation programs that Ave Maria participates in cost families and friends nothing. These opportunities are easy, have variety and can help the school increase funds for classroom items, purchase sports equipment and other needs. Some examples of these funds: Box Tops for Education, RaiseRight, Name Bubbles, Papa John’s Pizza, Labels for Education, Office Depot/Office Max , Kottemann Orthodontics, Wells Fargo, FPI Testers, Catholic Financial and Goodsearch.

James T. McInnis Scholarship Fund- This fund was established in honor of the school’s first principal who was a true example of charity for all and one who always wanted to help all those who desired a catholic education but needed assistance. It is granted annually to one male and one female student in the 5th-8th grades.  Each awardee receives a $1,000 scholarship.

Carbonari Scholarship Fund- This scholarship was established to honor the dedicated work of James J. Carbonari, AMA Board Member for 12 years and beloved grandparent. It is a $1,000 scholarship granted to one 7th or 8th grade student. Students complete an application which centers around reflection on Jesus’ parable of the talents in the Gospel of Matthew, a call that Mr. Carbonari took to heart and fulfilled admirably.

Donations to these scholarship funds may be fully tax deductible.

As a parent at our school you are automatically a part of AMP (Ave Maria Parents). Take part in your child’s class or something schoolwide…help on a committee or co-chair it with another parent. We do have all volunteers go through Virtus training, sign a code of conduct, and complete a criminal background check in order to volunteer.  See the Community tab for more details on ways to volunteer.
