School Awards & Competitions
While academic achievement is its own intrinsic reward, students are also supported and motivated through opportunities for formal recognition at Ave Maria Academy. These programs cultivate academic excellence, confidence, and a healthy spirit of disciplined competition.

Science Fair
Students present the results of scientific inquiry drawn from a range of experiments conducted throughout the year. A structured preparation process guides students in developing and presenting their work. Projects are evaluated by judges based on clarity of presentation, depth of understanding, and application of scientific reasoning.
Spelling Bee
Ave Maria Academy utilizes Scripps National Spelling Bee materials to administer its school-wide competition. The Lower School Bee includes Grades 1–4, and the Upper School Bee includes Grades 5–8. This event promotes academic excellence while fostering confidence, precision in language, and public speaking skills.

Public Class
Public Class is a team-based academic competition in which students respond to questions across core subject areas. Each class is divided into two teams, with students answering questions individually in a structured format. The activity strengthens academic fluency, collaboration, and composure in public academic settings.
Honor Roll
Students in Grades 3–8 who achieve an A- average (90%) or higher in major subject areas—including language arts, mathematics, history, science, religion, and Spanish—with no individual grade below a B- (80%) for the trimester are recognized on Honor Roll. This recognition reflects not only academic excellence, but also diligence, perseverance, and the cultivation of virtue in the pursuit of ordered academic effort.

Catechism Bee
Students in Grades 1–8 participate in a catechetical competition designed to deepen their knowledge of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This event reinforces doctrinal understanding and supports ongoing formation in the truths of the Catholic faith.
